Quite the Day

Today was quite the day! Well... yesterday it snowed a ton I'm thinking this is when the problem began!! ha ha!! So today I was in the middle of burning a cd for Dallas and I had just put Paisley to sleep FINALLY!! I was still holding her trying to be super quiet so she wouldn't wake up again, Gavin was downstairs watching cartoons and all the sudden the power turned off. This has happened in the past because of the stupid snow, so I knew any moment Gavin would be running up the stairs scared that the TV "turned off on its own" sure enough he bolts up and is wide eyed telling me what has happend. I kept telling him that it will come back on and anything that uses a plug won't turn on until it does... although he still felt like he needed to try to turn everything on anyway!! Anyways, the power was off for maybe 5 minutes then ALL 6 of the fire alarms in our house went off, so much for Paisley staying asleep! So a couple minutes (maybe seconds) went by, I was thinking the power would be on at any minute but I was wrong. I hurried and called my Dad and told him the power went off and now all the alarms are and asked him if I should be getting outside! He said he'd send Bronson over to rescue us. In the meantime, the kids were screaming and Gavin said "Mom I need my frog" so I said well hurry and get it thinking maybe that would make him stop crying... I was wrong.... the alarms kept going and dang just the sound of them emergency or not makes you nervous!! After a couple more minutes Gavin is sobbing telling me he doesn't want our house to blow up, I try to tell him in between the beeping that its not going to then a few more minutes go by and he says "Mom we better get out before it blows!!" HA HA HA I couldn't help but laugh. I was trying to go around the house to unplug the alarms and Paisley was in her crib now just screaming, so I told Gavin he needed to be a big Brother and try and put Paisley's binkie in her mouth, he was screaming too so that didn't work too well, so into the crib he went with her!! Of course I HAD to take a picture of it!! HA HA HA!! Gavin was screaming right before I took this picture although he is beyond trained to stop and smile on command!! Anyways Bronson finally got here and off we went to my Parents house! Thank goodness!!
On a happy note Dallas picked us up from my parents after he got off work and we came home and he suprised me with some tulips a card and the movie Becoming Jane, it was really sweet! And just as always I got a Valentines from my Dad... and huge box of Chocolate!! So all in all this day was pretty good!
