Shots for Kindergarten

Yesterday we had to take both of the kids in for their shots. Gavin had to get 3 of them for Kindergarten and Paisley also had to get 3. We got to the Dr's office. We had avoided telling Gavin what we were going there for, when we would ask what we are doing at the Dr's he would say "getting Paisley shots" sweet brother I know. Anyways we got to the Dr's. My Mom had come for support, thank goodness because we definately needed it!!

Gavin was first, he got weighed... he is still 47 pounds, (81 percentile) and they checked how tall he was getting 44" (69 percentile) then the Dr came in and checked everything else out. He was good to go. Gavin told the Dr that he didn't want to get shots, the Dr said I dont' want to give them to you either so I'm going to have someone else give it to you!! Ha ha!! Next was Paisley she is 16 pounds (37 percentile) and 26.5 inches (62 percentile) and her head is normal!! Anyways that was that... Paisley fell asleep waiting for the nurses to come back in with the shots. They took forever. In the meantime, Gavin was throwing a huge fit about not wanting shots. We were telling him how he just needed to be brave and then it would be over with and he could go to Kindergarten. This didn't help, so onto the next idea... We told him Bronson had to get shots and that didn't work either so then we started naming everyone in the United States who have also had to get shots... this didn't help either. So my Mom called my Dad so Gavin could talk to him and get some brave tips from him.... Gavin asked his grandpa "do you know how to get me out of here" ha ha!! The phone call didn't work either. It was all a lost cause. But we still had to keep up with more ideas because the dang nurses were taking forever. By this time Gavin had already kicked the table a few times, smacked his head into the back of the table, which then caused him to be more mad so he fell to the ground and was screaming I don't want shots I dont' want shots. Finally the nurses came in after what seemed like an hour of waiting. I was holding Gavin knowing that I would be the one having to try and put him up on the table because Dallas was holding Paisley sleeping. Sure enough when the nurses came in I had to try and grab him off the floor while he is kicking and screaming and put him on the table. In no less time had I put him on the table and my Mom was trying to hold him down too, he was up and running in place screaming he didn't want shots. We finally pinned him down. We were trying to tell him that if he would just hold still that they could do two of the shots at the same time and it would be over quicker. He didn't want to hear it. He was kicking his legs and squirming all over. So time for shots... I was practically laying on Gavin, my Mom was also holding him and the nurse was holding him and then shots were given one by one. He was screaming "this is my worst day ever" sad, but geez!! Then he was done. Next was Paisley's turn who didn't wake up during the whole ordeal with Gavin, she got her 3 shots, started screaming and that was the end of that... she held still so they were able to give her 2 shots at once.

WHEW.... what an adventure. My mom then took Gavin to Walmart to get him a toy, he picked the teradactyle toy to add to his dinosaur collection.

Morale of the story.... You better hope your kid isn't as bad as Gavin was for shots, if so bring back up!!!

So you totally need to add a "funny things Gavin says" on the side of your blog. He's to funny!

"Do you know how to get me outta here?" HA! So funnY!

Poor kids and shots, it's terrible isn't it? But I guess it's better than not being able to get them at all.
